Egypt's Data Protection Law: 82 Days Left

If your business stores its data outside Egypt, or migrates data to a hosting server abroad, this applies to you.

Egypt's PDPL goes into full effect 1 November 2026. After that, the Personal Data Protection Centre can investigate and fine any business that store or migrate personal data n servers outside Egypt.

What's Required

Companies that collect or process personal data in Egypt must have a PDPC license, including a separate license for cross-border data transfers.

The Penalties

  • Administrative fines: EGP 100,000 – 5,000,000 per violation
  • Unlicensed processing of sensitive data or cross-border transfers: up to EGP 5,000,000 plus imprisonment (3–6 months minimum)

Banks, fintechs, and real estate firms, especially those regulated by the Central Bank of Egypt or the FRA, are the most affected by this law

How Intcore Helps

As an official Huawei Cloud partner, Intcore migrates businesses' data to Huawei Cloud infrastructure hosted in Egypt, removing the cross-border exposure entirely. As a new partnership offer, this migration is available at a discounted rate.

31 October 2026 is the deadline. Contact us now to know more about the law and start the migration before the deadline to avoid any penalties!
